Abu Dhabi F1 takes pole position in the UAE

Posted on 02 November 2009 with no comments from readers

Nice video of Lewis Hamilton taking pole position in the first-ever Abu Dhabi F1 race yesterday on the brand new Yas Island track. If Abu Dhabi wanted global attention it certainly got it, and all concerned seemed highly complimentary about the facilities.

It is also a nice reminder that the UAE is not just about its flashy commercial and banking capital Dubai, the government seat in Abu Dhabi is actually the world’s richest city, or vies for that title with Doha.

No doubt about it Abu Dhabi was really in pole position last night, even if Sebastian Vettel won the race!

Wasn’t it fantastic! Great venue, plenty to good stuff to eat and drink, no traffic hassles and a wicked race.

Absolutely fantastic few days and the organisers should take a bow.
