Hotel review: The Address, Dubai Mall

Posted on 12 October 2009 with no comments from readers

For the perfect integrated luxury shopping and hotel experience The Address, Dubai Mall is the newest addition to Dubai five star hotels from Emaar Hospitality Group.

With its direct link into the Dubai Mall, one of the world’s largest shopping malls and next to the world’s tallest building the Burj Dubai, this hotel makes no apology for catering to serious shoppers and fashionistas.

Shop till you drop

You can walk straight out of Bloomingdales and into the hotel lobby, and back out again if an overwhelming urge to shop comes upon you.

As you might expect this is a cool, minimalistic property with gentle browns and beige interiors. But from the height of the lobby ceiling to the lofty international dining restaurant this is a hotel designed to impress.

The hotel’s spacious ballroom can accommodate up to 650 guests for fashion shows, conferences and even has access for cars for auto launch events. The sense of space and effortless luxury never leaves you in this hotel.

All 244 rooms have bathtubs with a view from the window and sumptuous marble bathrooms with separate showers. For shoppers who travel in family groups there are interconnecting doors, and the GCC family market is a clear target.

24-hour service

The non-stop 24-hour service of gyms, swimming pools and the extensive business facilities are also useful for late night guests and those with internal clocks not yet adjusted to Dubai time. And if you arrive at 3am in the morning the room is yours for 24 hours as standard policy.

Room prices come with complimentary wireless Internet access and will soon include films on the flat-screen TV. There are also the latest touches of an iPod docking station and Nespresso coffee machine.

Dining options comprise the NA3NA3 for specialist Arabic cuisine, the fashion conscious Amarista lounge and a poolside restaurant that transforms later into a nightspot. The pool is huge and complemented by a beautiful spa and gym.

Many Addresses

Confusingly The Address Downtown Dubai, the 63-storey razor-shaped tower, is nearby and this is not going to be the last Address in Dubai either as one will open in the Dubai Marina very soon.

Emaar Hospitality has been fortunate in not having its construction program knocked back by the real estate crisis in Dubai, and will also operate the upcoming Armani hotel in the Burj Dubai as well as The Palace in the Old Town, also part of Downtown Dubai.

Standards have not been compromised by the recession, this is Dubai hospitality at its finest.
