The Movenpick Bahrain, the perfect modern business hotel

Earlier this month the Bahrain Movenpick hosted the second Cards Summit Middle East in Bahrain. Being situated a 500-metre walk from the Bahrain International Airport this proved a highly convenient hotel for visiting delegates and speakers.
This is also a relatively new hotel with the full range of modern amenities and not a concrete monstrosity upgraded from the 80s. The lobby area has free WiFi and features a soaring glass atrium where the bar is located.
Service rating
Just off is a buffet-style, all-day dining and breakfast restaurant serving a wide range of international dishes. It may be just a buffet but the waiter service is attentive and full-service came at no extra charge when ordering breakfast, and indeed the cost was also very modest.
Needless to say the conference facilites are very good with a separate entrance and the latest audio-visual equipment. Catering is to Swiss standards as you would expect from the Movenpick chain.
The bedrooms are a little minimalist for the taste of some Arabian guests but perfectly functional. There is a large independent shower and a forgotten toothbush was replaced quickly and at no charge.
You will certainly get a good night’s sleep as the sound insulation is excellent and there is no noise from the nearby airport or other guests. The bedding is very comfortable, and the large flatscreen television carries a full menu of global channels.
Nice terrace
Outside there is a large terrace next to one of the largest swimming pools in Bahrain from which you can observe the lights of the city across the sea. This is a nice venue for cocktail parties or relaxation.
Does this hotel lack anything? Well, I suppose its Swiss functionality might appear soulless to some but then this is a hotel for business and not pleasure.
For that purpose the Movenpick Bahrain is pretty outstanding. You would struggle even in Dubai to find such a combination within walking distance of the airport. Of course, you can still grab a taxi or coutesy car if you are struggling with luggage. But for a swift visit to Bahrain this is all very business friendly.
