Ritz-Carlton has jumped the queue of hotel announcements coming next week at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai with news of its sensational debut in Riyadh, capital of Saudi Arabia.

Formerly a royal guest palace, the 493-room hotel is situated within the Diplomatic Quarter next to the King Abdul Aziz Conference Centre, and set in 52 acres of landscaped gardens. Native palms, 600-year old olive trees from Lebanon, and water fountains abound on the property, providing an oasis of serenity amidst the city centre.

49 Royal Suites

There are 49 of the ultimate in luxury, two-bedroomed Royal Suites of more than 430 square metres, the size of a family villa. Two collossal ballrooms in a separate wing can accomodate conferences of almost any size.

Guests have a variety of dining options from a signature Middle Eastern restaurant to a lobby lounge for tea at the Ritz. Next to the magnificent open-roof swimming pool is an Asian fusion restaurant.

Clearly a notable addition to the six existing Ritz-Carltons in the region, the Riyadh Ritz-Carlton will be joined by one in Abu Dhabi later this year and the Nile Cairo in 2013.
