Management and F&B shake-up at Abu Dhabi’s Qasr Al Sarab hotel

In March ArabianMoney reviewed the splendid Qasr Al Sarab hotel deep in the Abu Dhabi desert and found certain aspects of the F&B and service lacking (click here).
We are pleased to report that the hotel now has a new general manager on board and many new heads of department from very strong hotel backgrounds. The PR department also informed us of the following additional changes:
- We now have a new Italian Chef, Chef Francesco Lattarulo, onboard to ensure the fine quality of Italian dishes.
- For the Mediterranean restaurant, we have a new team managing the restaurant and we have made some changes in the menu for both lunch and dinner.
- For the DVD library, we do have a list of DVD movie selection available at the reception. Additionally, we now have a pool table available in the teen’s club.
- There has been a change of service staff and improvements have been made in the speed and quality of service.
- Training has been given to service staff to ensure that guests have the most pleasurable dining experience.
It is good to report such a proactive response to reasonable criticisms, that undoubtedly also came from other customers’ feedback. How many other hotel groups in the world would respond so fast?
This is a magnificent property in a unique location in some of the most stunningly beautiful desert of Arabia and we think well worth a visit, particularly now that the hotel has brought its product up to standard.

I am pleased to see that the hotel has recognised this weakness in its F&B management. I stayed there last November and the restaurant service and food was a disaster and although reported in some detail to the management, they would not acknowledge the fact at the time.
