Financial astrology targets August 6th

That excellent chartist Clive Maund (www.clivemaund.com) turns out to also be a devoted astrologer, although he does not often apply this to financial markets. However, he cannot resist warning his readers about the August 6th chart:
The Grand Cross of the Cardinal Climax is a rare event. This is the incredibly rare event that astrologer Arch Crawford is also warning about (see this article). The same Mr Crawford ranked #1 Stock Market Timer for the period October 1 2007 through October 31, 2009.
Natural disaster?
Mr Maund thinks an attack on Iran unlikely but says: ‘With regard to the natural world major earthquakes and flooding and other natural disasters would also be typical manifestations. Finally this terrible configuration hardly augers well for the stockmarket, which could crash with very little warning, and it is certainly in position to do so.
‘The fortunes of the Precious Metals depend on what disaster or combination of disasters manifests – for example an attack on Iran would be expected to drive them higher, whereas a self-feeding stockmarket crash would probably take them lower in the absence of such an attack.’
But Mr Maund is more of the opinion that this could be the end of the economic crisis in some sort of gigantic climax: ‘Economic collapse now looks inevitable, but when you truly grasp the reasons for it, you understand that in developmental terms it is actually necessary to purge the system so that we can later move forward again freed of the drag of all this debt baggage.
Severe economic contraction?
‘It is thought that the extraordinarily tight and tense planetary aspect pattern in the sky right now, which concurs with numerous conventional technical indications, likely portends such a severe economic contraction.’
ArabianMoney is only reporting on this. It may be the silly season but we could not make this stuff up. Arabian star gazers were the original astrologers so who says it is all nonsense? Saddam Hussein’s invasion of Kuwait 20 years ago today came under a similar conjuction of the stars.

Arch Crawford’s predictions are wrong…
its alreay the 3rd of August and nothing happened
except the stock marekt went up like crazy
Ed Note: The solar flare happened on the 1st, see: http://www.arabianmoney.net/islamic-finance/2010/08/03/solar-tsunami-on-its-way-to-earth/
I’ve got some theories on what might happen with this astrology stuff. The Space Station might crash, since one of the cooling pumps just burned up. It could destroy the Kremlin, and start WW III. Yellowstone National Park might explode. After all, it has been 600,000 years since the last eruption. Toba super volcano too. Both blowing at the same time would REALLY make a mess. Get some extra air filters, right away. The magnetic field of the Earth might suddenly shut down, allowing ultraviolet light from the Sun to sterilize the Earth’s surface, kind of like, if you released Freon continuously for a few hundred years, and got rid of the entire ozone layer. You sure want to stay indoors if that happens. I’m not kidding. They didn’t ban those CFC filled spray cans for nothing!
The Great Rift Valley in Africa could suddenly split apart. That would be bad because the volcanoes would last for thousands of years. Hundreds of them. It happened in Siberia a while back. A real bummer that was. There is a volcanic island off the west coast of Africa that will eventually lose a big chunk of itself into the Atlantic Ocean. When the landslide does occur, the tidal wave that will form will level every city that touches the Atlantic Ocean with a wave 100 meters high. Surf will REALLY be up. Those folks from outer space might finally land. Oh that’s right, they already landed right down the road from me in Pascagoula, Mississippi back in 1973, and kidnapped those two fishermen. I don’t guess they will come back so soon. How much DNA can they need?
Maybe those astrologers just got a peek at Friday’s jobs numbers. I think I’ll go get some canned food now. You can’t be too careful when you might be staring the Apocalypse in the face before the end of the week. Is anyone selling insurance for this? Too bad AIG didn’t find out about this a few years ago.
Are you really serious about this?
Ed Note: Just reporting – but the unusual solar flares from the sun this week are very real, and fit the prediction accurately. That sounds a serious coincidence if nothing else!
The fact that 21 Fibonacci days have now passed (Trading days) since the Jul 1 lows, that the SP 500 at 1221 was an exact 61.8% re-trace of the 07 highs to 09 lows, that 1011 recent low was a 38% retrace of same, 1040, 1121 etc. are all fibonacci figures. The market is hardly random. Look for an 1131 top which is a 61.8% fib of the April high to Jul 1 low and will exactly touch the June 21 high of 1131. I see 942 by end of September.
@ Bill: Enjoyed reading your “outside the box” thinking, regarding the endless possibilities of what “might” happen.
For the Uninitiated:
For those who are unfamiliar with corona mass ejections (CME) and their potential impact on our planet, go here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coronal_mass_ejection
and here http://www.windows2universe.org/sun/cmes.html&edu=high
for more info.
As I mentioned in another post on this blog, this CME will definitely affect our planet in some way, but no one knows exactly what the nature of its impact will be. I’m a retired electronics engineer, and I realize that it certainly may have a big impact on the electrical grid that is on the dark side of the earth after the CME has passed. My very, very rough guess is that it may impact central and southern Asia and India the most (it is currently night time there, as I write this post). If the CME passes at, say 9:00PM GMT, the CME may mostly impact the Mediterranean and African regions of the earth (i.e. areas with the biggest impact). I confess that I have not tried to track this CME’s movement and ETA.
The Nature of Governments:
Perhaps equally significant is the “aftermath” of the CME effects on the globe, and this may be what Maund and Arch Crawford are referring to. What’s the human reaction to all of this? How do governments react, and how do they react towards other governments? In times of great stress, it is the nature of governments to ignite hatred and mistrust for people and countries that are not their own. Will there be a sharp increase in “nationalism”, sparked by governments? What kinds of tension and deliberate human interactions are initiated as a result?
Or perhaps the human interactions have a delayed affect?
Well, it’s possible that a disruption from the sun could cause all kinds of havoc here on earth. Who knows? Astrology has always been on people’s minds and many ancient people looked into the future based on their study. Now’s a good time to see if there is any credibility in this great warning of calamity. If nothing happens that is awe-inspiring, well, then we know what to think of the next warning. If something huge does happen… maybe then, those that scoff will be more willing to listen and heed the warning. Let’s see what the 5th, 6th, and the 7th bring. I’m interested.
I’m curious. The prognosticators have had all kinds of predictions about whether gold and silver will go up and down and one predicted the dollar collapsing by the end of last year… statements to that effect every day for at least 90 days. It didn’t happen. Same thing with astrology. It’s all guess work based on possible concrete facts… only the concrete may not hold the weight of the prediction.

Odd market, the American stock markets did the same jobs jamboree crawl back that happened the Friday before. I suppose the PPT will do another gap up on Monday. We need to some really bad news to frustrate the operations in the market.
Slidell……….worked there in the late 70’s- 80’s,oil fields. Now there’s an open minded group. If you study history, people’s belief systems and sciences usually change and grow with new knowledge and experiences. We are in a time of great change those that understand this will adapt and change those that don’t……
25,000 years ago when the sun was last centered in the galaxy, neanderthal gave way to cro magnum…… evolution. It is time once again for a great leap.
