What are Arch Crawford’s stars forecasting for next week?

Posted on 30 July 2010 with 6 comments from readers

If you follow financial astrology then you will have heard of Arch Crawford, the biggest name in the business and a man with a phenomenal forecasting record over the past 30 years. His record commands respect even among those who smile at astrology.

From this Sunday July 31st to August 3rd Crawford notes the biggest astrological disruption he has ever seen. This is the biggest nadir in the famous Bradley model of astrological cycles with a 200 year low on some calculations.

Biggest thing ever

‘This is the biggest thing we have ever seen’, he told Goldseek.com radio recently. ‘That includes the First World War, Great Depression and Second World War’.

So what on earth – and presumably we are talking about an earthly event – could Crawford be talking about? Is this an earthquake in Tokyo or San Francisco? Could North Korea be about to launch a nuclear weapon at its neighbor?

Then there are the simmering tensions in the Persian Gulf. On Wednesday a Japanese tanker was apparently hit by some sort of weapon leaving the UAE for Tokyo but a full report is not yet available (see this article).

First Gulf War

It was 20 years ago on August 2nd that Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait. The red hot Arabian summer is not necessarily a downer for military action. Indeed it provides cover of a kind and a distraction. Could Israel strike Iranian nuclear targets?

It is certainly something that has been planned and would not come as a total surprise to anybody in the region. But the latest UN sanctions are just beginning to really bite into Iran, and Israel will surely give them a chance to work first before going for what is still a very risky operation, and also likely to cause huge disruption in the Gulf.

These are all Black Swan events and as such totally unpredictable unless you happen to be an astrologer who can see it all in the stars. This is probably going to turn out to be complete bunkum but astrological forecasts may also be some kind of psychological trigger for events.

Sometimes when we think something is going to happen we subconsciously make it happen. However, it is rather hard to apply that to natural disasters and the link to military decisions must be at best tenuous. Maybe there is just something in astrology.

A coronal mass ejection might knock out the power grid on the side of earth facing the Sun when it hits. Today, that would make even WW II seem small. It has happened before, in 1859, on September 1. A big one like that, hitting today, could disable the power grid for months by burning out all kinds of transformers and other equipment. Having lived without power for two weeks after hurricane Katrina, I can tell you, nothing works these days without electricity. We are completely dependent on the stuff. That is why you should always keep current paper records of as many of your financial records as you can. A CME might erase a lot of records. It is another reason to own some gold and silver. The Sun is getting a lot more active just in the last few days. You can follow it on the SOHO satellite web sites if you don’t have a personal solar telescope. They don’t have a whole fleet of satellites watching it for nothing.

Ed Note: Bill I have been thinking the same thing, and solar activity is surely exactly what you would expect an astrologer to get right – have you not noticed how damn hot it is lately? We are at 30 years highs in Dubai.
Buy gold and short ETFs – but you are right if electricity goes then so much is fried, and you will not be reading this website either.

For those who want to know what a ‘coronal mass ejection’ is see this link:

If one happened then there would be a five day or so wait to see what impact it had on the earth – one can only imagine the panic in that period and if you are thinking in terms of financial markets it would make 1929 look a picnic in the park…

I love these astrological predictions, whenever I need a good laugh I read the next forecast. Why are you wasting your time, just go to Vegas and clean the place out if your so good.

BTW, to Peter Cooper. I am reading the Dubai Sabbatical and love it.

There was a solar flare on August 1st. It is due to arrive by about the 4th of August. http://spaceweather.com/ We could expect to see some decline in markets near the end of the week.

I read the the flares were in the class C range. I recall that class M and X coronal events should be cause for worry as far as electronics are concerned. I do feel that a change in mass mood is likely. We could see some depressed stock prices as Saturn, Uranus, Pluto and the moon will form a tight grand cross on the 6th.
